Hanna left first each morning.
Georgia Rose learned the sound of her leaving
and met her at the door.
Long days learning the work.
Evenings back at the house.
Three plates in the sink by nine.
Then summer ended.
Hanna went one way.
Madison another.
AK another.
There would be patients.
Marriages.
New cities.
For a while after,
Georgia Rose still went to the door in the morning
and waited.
